SASSA Application Online

Submitting your SASSA application online is much easier than dealing with paperwork at the SASSA office. You don’t need to write by hand or rush to fill out your application form. We will guide you through the complete process of how to apply for a SASSA social grant, whether you are a citizen, refugee, asylum seeker, or special permit holder.

SASSA Application Online

You can follow our SASSA application process for all types of social grants, including the Old Age Grant, Disability Grant, Care Dependency Grant, SRD R370 Grant, Child Support Grant, and Foster Child Grant. To apply online, you need to create an account on the SASSA portal and then follow these steps to complete your SASSA online application process.

1. Visit to the SASSA services portal at https://services.sassa.gov.za/
2. Click on Register A New Account and Fill in the SASSA Registration form with your personal info, citizenship, ID number, full name, email, and cellphone number.
3. Create a strong password to secure your account login credentials.
4. Complete the registration, by inserting the received One-Time PIN (OTP) on your phone number.
5. Now log in using your username and password to the SASSA Services platform.
6. Select the required social grant by clicking on the Apply for SASSA Grant option.
7. Complete the SASSA application form with all the screening questionnaire details that vary for different types of grants.
8. Upload all the required documents listed for your specific grant application.
9. For SASSA Older Persons Grant, you’ll need to provide.
   • Personal Identity Card copy
   • Marriage certificate and copy of Spouse’s ID
   • Proof of income with Bank statement
   • Add your banking details for SASSA payments
   • Upload Certified SASSA-generated affidavit in PDF format
10. Submit all the information to complete your application.

Once your application is submitted, you’ll receive a confirmation SMS with a dated stamp indicating that your application was successful. This message will also include your Application ID (App ID) and details about your chosen payment method, which SASSA will process to provide you with the final results.

• Important Notice: Remember to keep the dated stamped receipt as proof of application, which is relevant for both online and manual submission at the SASSA branch office.

After successfully submitting your SASSA application, the next step is to SASSA Status Check online. This allows you to verify your application status, whether it’s been approved, rejected, or is pending further verification.

SASSA Application Approval Time

It usually takes up to 3 months (90 days) for SASSA to process grant applications, particularly during periods of high application volume. After your application has been processed and approved, you will receive a confirmation text message detailing the payment dates for the approved month. This message will let you know when to expect your first grant through your preferred payment method selected in your application form.
